I have engaged the services of SWPI and simply cannot recommend them enough. It is highly advisable for anyone building a house to hire a private building inspector. The small investment could save you a world of pain later. You may think your builder is great and has your best interests at heart (and they may do) however the only peace of mind you'll have is to engage SWPI. I am currently building and recently engaged them to carry out an inspection at pre-lining stage. Damian picked up the good and the bad and some of the bad was in the form of defects. I was able to use his report to negotiate critical repairs and rectification with my builder.I would like to add that we were working with a very tight deadline and I am very grateful the team were able to accommodate the inspection prior to the next stage commencing on the build. We received the report the same day (evening) and ended up halting commencement of the next stage due to what was reported.
